Free email certificates

With an email certificate you can digitally sign emails and thus prove their "authenticity". If the receiver posseses an own certificate, mails can be encrypted additionally. Thus it is impossible that other persons than the receiver read the encrypted email.

Authenticated email certificates

Since the issuing process of a normal email certificate is completely digitally automated and only the authenticity of the email address is guaranteed but not your identity there is still no 100% security.

 

With a trusted email certificate the authenticity of your name is confirmed at the same time. It contains your name and the receiver can really be sure that the email address is your own and the email received is sent by you and was received untampered. 

For a trusted email certificate your identity must be confirmed by a notary of the "Web of trust". The 123domain.eu’s staff members are certified notaries of the "Web of trust" and can confirm your identity. A personal attendance is necessary at our office premises. When confirming your identity bring along your passport, the Thawte ID (received during the registration for the email certificate), as well as a service fee of 25.- Euro.
