Together with administrators and IT experts from other well-known companies and registrars, we discussed current developments, best practices, and technical challenges relating to secure DNS infrastructure.
DNSSEC is a key security component of the modern internet. Using cryptographic signatures, the technology protects DNS resolution from manipulation and ensures that Internet users are actually communicating with the real servers of their destination address. DNSSEC is a fundamental building block, especially for companies that rely on trustworthy online communication. With DNSSEC, the data of the domain name servers is digitally signed. This makes DNSSEC an important and indispensable technology for all customers who depend on the operational data of their domain names being transmitted to customers without being tampered with.
“For us, this workshop was a valuable platform for deepening our expertise and picking up on the latest ideas from the community,” explains Jens Meyer (far left in the picture), Head of Domain Management. “The event once again demonstrated how important DNSSEC is for the integrity and security of digital services.”
As one of the first registrars in Germany to actively support DNSSEC and offer it to customers, 123domain.eu is one of the pioneers in this field. We were already involved in the “DNSSEC Testbed for Germany” in 2009 and played our part in accelerating the introduction of DNSSEC for .de and simplifying its use.
123domain.eu has been supporting DNSSEC for numerous domain extensions for years, offers its customers automated processes for signing and key changes, and advises companies and public authorities on the introduction and use of DNSSEC. Upon request, our customers receive comprehensive support for secure implementation – from technical activation to continuous monitoring.
It is important to us to emphasize the following conclusion from the workshop:
DNSSEC is not an optional extra, but an essential building block for secure digital business processes.
123domain.eu will continue to contribute its expertise, experience, and commitment to making the internet a little safer.
